About The Position

This position is responsible for providing accounting, reporting, and control support for Corporate Enablement, including but not limited to Legal, Human Resources, Compliance, Corporate Services, and other centralized functions. This role partners closely with Finance Business Partners, cost center owners, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely close execution, strong internal controls, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Tyson’s accounting policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience; accounting or finance-related preferred
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI, etc.) preferred
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced close environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Process-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment

  • Familiarity with SOX and audit support

Responsibilities

  • Financial close & journal entries, including preparing, reviewing, and posting recurring and ad-hoc journal entries (accruals, prepaids, amortization, reclassifications); performing monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities in accordance with close calendars and control requirements
  • Reporting & analysis, including assisting with monthly and quarterly financial reporting for corporate expense (SG&A schedules, variance explanations, management reporting packages) and supporting ad-hoc reporting requests; maintaining and refreshing Power BI for business partners
  • Internal controls & compliance, including preparing and documenting periodic account reconciliations, comparing ledger balances to subledgers/schedules/support, investigating and resolving reconciling items and variances, and maintaining clear support to meet audit and SOX requirements
  • Cross-functional collaboration, including serving as support for Enablement leaders and business partners, communicating accounting impacts/timing/requirements to non-accounting stakeholders, and identifying process improvement opportunities related to close efficiency, reporting accuracy, and automation.
