About The Position

Join the Animal Nutrition accounting team as a Cost Accountant and take ownership of cost accounting activities across a diverse network of operational locations and partners. In this high-impact role, you will lead complex daily, weekly, and monthly accounting processes—including journal entries, reconciliations, cost analysis, and inventory resolution—while serving as a key resource for cross-functional partners. This role is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Arden Hills, MN (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in office each week)

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
1-2 years’ experience in accounting, ideally cost accounting highly desired
Proficient with ERP accounting applications (JDE or SAP preferred) and Microsoft products.
Advanced excel required.

Responsibilities

Work with key partners on product cost set-up, work order completions, sales and receiving corrections, freight issues, and cycle count reconciliation
Evaluate, analyze, and resolve product costing to provide accurate reporting.
Update standard costing to new calculated weighted average cost based on weekly activity, and review and analyze costing variances.
Evaluate and correct general ledger activity and balances to ensure accurate gross margin reporting.
Analyze and explain COGS variances month over month
Execute month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations
