About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an Accountant in the Segment Support, Contract Management Department at the Finance Shared Services office in Buffalo, NY. Our Accountant role performs routine assignments. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems. The successful candidate has conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in own discipline typically acquired through a college or university degree or the equivalent work experience. Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles. This is a hybrid position. Requires 3 days in office after successful completion of training

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Accounting experience 1-2 years preferred
  • Minimum Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain strong business relationships with segment finance and operational teams
  • Ensure integrity of business lines internal financial reporting & prepare client income statements & billings
  • Apply GAAP & objective accounting judgement to knowledge of contractual agreements & company policy.
  • Maintain company databases as necessary.
  • Manage daily phone calls, emails, and SoFinance requests to assist operators with financial acumen
  • Work proactively to prevent problems and identify and implement innovative solutions
  • Set up new Contracts including billing and system updates
  • Reconcile, review, and validate Blackline reconciliations and supporting documentation
