Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA Designation preferred) from a 4-year college/university.
  • Two+ years of related GL & Accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fundamental SQL skills such as: join views, how to disaggregate data based on key features.
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills for efficient data utilization.
  • Subject Matter Expert capability on relevant topics within the department jurisdiction

Nice To Haves

  • CPA Designation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Processes Financial Reporting: Preparation and financial statements and FS analysis in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Responsible for application of appropriate accounting in accordance with US GAAP necessary to produce accurate and timely financial reporting across all processes.
  • ASC 606 Revenue Recognition application – Ensuring the Company is recognizing revenue in accordance to GAAP, including Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue recognition methods.
  • Month-End Journal Entries, and P&L Review of Revenue, COGS, Operating Expenses
  • Monthly Balance Sheet GL Reconciliations & review of reconciliations to ensure appropriate support is available to back up the presented Financial Statements
  • Inventory – Valuation vs. GL Monitoring, understanding adjustments & GL posting profiles.
  • Fixed Asset System – Maintaining PPE in Asset Keeper, ensuring Capitalized Expenditure Request process runs smoothly with operations department & stakeholders.
  • Personal and Real Property Tax Reporting for all branches – by State, County and City. Maintaining control of the P&L expense via accrual and reconciling between actual payments
  • Commission & Bonus Maintenance (Payouts vs. Plan) – Monthly review of the consistency of our payouts compared to the modeled commission & bonus accruals based off Company performance.
  • Payroll-Related Benefits & Liabilities – Reconciliation at the employee level for the accrual & invoice payments.
  • Deposits & Prepaid Maintenance – Ensuring proper expense amortization is taking place for prepaid services in accordance with GAAP.
  • General Financial Statement Preparation & Analysis
  • Regular and punctual attendance is essential to the successful performance of this job.
  • Follow through implementation for policy changes and updated business development concepts company wide.
  • Assist & guide Shared Service team members in fundamental GL concepts and basic technical skills (SQL & Excel)
  • Contribute to a strong team environment to ensure good communication and active attentiveness.
  • Lead discussions with company-wide departments and personnel on accounting policies & procedures.
