About The Position

MAHUBE-OTWA Community Action Partnership is actively recruiting an Accountant. We are seeking a motivated, self-starter to help us manage our funding so we can strengthen our communities. The accountant provides hands-on accounting leadership and must be able to efficiently maintain financial records and reports and perform account reconciliation. Supports the Agency in grant/contract management; the monthly accounting cycle to include general ledger, accounts payable, fixed asset, accounts receivable and cash management; budgeting; payroll; and audit preparation. The position supports the Fiscal department while performing day-to-day accounting, data transactions, and operations for the department.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in accounting/Finance required.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, Fund Accounting and OMB required.
  • Ability to assist in evaluating fiscal systems – identifying measures and actions needed to improve or correct operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to explain and convey information.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, stay organized, manage time, and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong computer knowledge and experience including Microsoft Office Suite, databases, internet and email.
  • Ability to learn program specific fiscal software.
  • Excellent mathematics, calculations, comprehension, and problem-solving skills to analyze, report and convey accurate and timely financial information.
  • With attention to detail, must have the ability to gather information/data and present in various formats.
  • Must be able to honor private/confidential information.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must qualify work in fiscal through DHS NetStudy or other acceptable clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) to three (3) years of previous accounting experience in non-profit/governmental accounting or master's degree preferred.
  • Abila MIP software preferred.
