P&H Foods has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as Accountant based in Cambridge, Ontario. This is a full-time 12-month term position. Requirements

  • CPA designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) required
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Ability to travel periodically to grading sites and work flexible hours during month-end, year-end, and critical operational periods

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food manufacturing or agribusiness is a strong asset
  • Experience with ERP systems, Business Central, and NAV Dynamics would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bi-weekly cost of production labour reports for four grading locations, including standard cost maintenance and variance/margin reporting.
  • Assist with payroll-related journal entry reconciliations and uploads to the general ledger.
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations and working papers to support accurate and timely financial closes and statements.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly rebate calculations.
  • Support customer profitability analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and support internal/external audits and year-end audit requests.
  • Support annual budgets and budget-to-actual reporting, including detailed departmental analysis.
  • Provide analysis and commentary to explain operational and financial performance.
  • Update combined quarterly reporting requirements, including intercompany transactions and capex-to-budget tracking.
  • Prepare GST/HST periodic filing reports.
  • Assist with non-standard invoices.
  • Help create consistent reporting across grading locations and support ERP/reporting systems, process improvements, automation, and data accuracy.
