About The Position

An Accountant Supervisor plans, schedules and coordinates accounting work for a City government agency. Work of this class involves supervising accounting personnel. Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in an office where working conditions are normal. Work requires minimal physical exertion.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
Five years of experience in performing accounting work.
30 credits in accounting and business law and 6 additional credits in statistics or data processing (as an equivalency).
Knowledge of accounting and routine auditing practices and procedures.
Ability to compile and write accounting reports and budgets.
Supervisory ability.
Ability to analyze and resolve accounting problems.
Authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
Completion of a mandatory six-month's probation.
Education must be obtained from an accredited institution.
Education credentials obtained out of the US must be evaluated for US equivalency.
Provide sufficient information on application to show minimum qualifications.
Complete a Financial Disclosure pursuant to Sections 7-7, 7-8, and 7-9 of the City Ethics Law within 30 days of hire.
