About The Position

This position is responsible for a wide variety of accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting, as well as acting as a finance partner with various leaders assisting with the annual operating plan, forecast, and actual reporting that enables management to understand the team’s financial performance. This position is part of the department which ultimately is responsible for all externally reported financial statements and results, internally consolidated financial statements and results, and accounting concepts which impact the company overall.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with 0-2 years of related experience or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and deadline driven
  • Up to 10% Travel

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting standards and the ability to communicate effectively to non-accounting personnel
  • Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One and Planful

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the monthly financial statement close.
  • Prepare and record non-standard journal entries in the general ledger system and complete reconciliations of related balance sheet accounts.
  • Responsible for various accounting topics which may include, but are not limited to, manufacturing administrative expenses, freight, purchase price variances, and/or inventory.
  • Researches, analyzes, and resolves reconciling items and unreconciled differences identified during the reconciliation process.
  • Assist the business with analyzing their variances between actual results and forecast each fiscal month.
  • Document and substantiate explanations for these variances for management review.
  • Initiates basic research on issues identified on respective areas.
  • Participation in projects which may include identifying and implementing process improvements which drive efficiencies, technical research, and ad hoc financial analysis.
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls and documentation including SOX and other compliance measures for general ledger and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews, SOX audit and year-end audit.
  • Supports accurate and timely external reporting.
