About The Position

Auzo Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Accountant/Bookkeeper for a contract role, approximately 20 hours per week, with a pay rate of $40-$55 per hour. The company's mission is to save people time by handling car servicing. As Auzo has recently implemented NetSuite Financials and is experiencing rapid growth, there is a need for clean, current, and investor-ready financial records. This new role offers direct collaboration with the founders and significant visibility into the operations of an early-stage company.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally at an accounting firm serving corporate clients or at an operating company.
  • Required NetSuite Financials experience, including comfort navigating a customized environment, creating saved searches, and configuring dashboards independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and analyze financial reports, including reporting by partner, driver, cost center, time period, or other business dimensions.
  • Solid working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
  • Familiarity with payroll administration and associated compliance requirements.
  • Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills, particularly Excel.
  • Must be based in Santa Clarita/Valencia or Orange County with the ability to attend occasional in-person meetings in Santa Clarita/Valencia or Orange County (Newport/Costa Mesa/Irvine).
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Clear and direct communication skills.

  • Experience with gig economy or marketplace businesses, including partner/driver structures and 1099 contractor management.
  • Background at an early-stage or VC-backed startup.
  • Exposure to Ramp or similar spend management platforms.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes accurately and on time.
  • Perform regular and accurate bank reconciliations.
  • Post and maintain journal entries and the general ledger with accuracy.
  • Support and execute monthly close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage partner and driver record management in NetSuite, including data entry, record maintenance, and flagging inconsistencies.
  • Process contractor applications, including intake and approval, and conduct background checks as needed.
  • Administer payroll and contractor payments through Gusto, ensuring accurate and timely processing and supporting compliance.
  • Manage expense and spending through Ramp, organizing vendor and transaction records.
  • Handle sales and city tax filings accurately and on time.
  • Produce monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and operational reports for leadership.
  • Generate financial reports and slice data by relevant dimensions (partner, driver, region, cost category, time period, etc.) to support decision-making.
  • Build and maintain NetSuite saved searches and dashboards, tailoring views by user and keeping the environment organized.
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting, operational, and reporting projects.
  • Handle sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality.
