About The Position

This position works under general supervision to perform intermediate-level professional accounting work in the areas of property tax, conducting tax parcel calculations, some general ledger accounting, and other related accounting functions.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of proven experience in the use of accounting principles, techniques, and theories
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, or a related field; OR An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
• Experience in a public agency preferred.
• PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains

Responsibilities

• Maintains accounting records involving technical accounting data.
• Updates and analyzes database activity for tax parcels. Prepares specialized accounting reports.
• Records and reconciles to general ledger accounts; prepares journal entries; makes corrections or adjustments as needed.
• Integrates accounts receivable according to tax parcels; processes and posts payments received for taxes or fees; reviews receipts, escrow accounts, and other financial reports.
• Research and resolve issues regarding technical accounting problems.
• Performs other duties as required or directed.
