About The Position
This role is for an Accountant in Assurance, specifically within the Audit function. The position is with Doane Grant Thornton, a large and growing professional services firm that emphasizes a community-like atmosphere. The firm employs approximately 3000 people across Canada and values its colleagues, clients, and communities. The Accountant, Assurance will be responsible for planning, preparing, and executing financial statement audits and reviews, providing clients with solutions based on current business and financial conditions, and planning fieldwork assignments including budget and resource allocation. The role also involves working closely with clients to provide exceptional service, engaging with clients in various industry sectors under different reporting frameworks, supervising and mentoring professionals, and contributing to the firm's reputation as preferred business advisors.
Requirements
- CPA designation or designation near completion
- 1+ Years of public practice audit experience
- Strong technical expertise in assurance, accounting.
- Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
- Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail
- Proven problem solver with solid analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in leading teams of professionals on diverse engagements
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite and ability to grasp new technology tools
Responsibilities
