About The Position

This position supports the financial operations of the PA Municipal Retirement System through detailed accounting work and careful review of financial activity. As an Accountant 2, you will perform the following duties: Accrual Entries: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end accrual entries for financial reporting Ledger Review: Review and reconcile general ledger accounts and research differences Cash Reconciliation: Perform monthly cash reconciliation and compare SAP and Treasury reports Plan Reporting: Post and reconcile employer level financial data for more than 1,000 pension plans Budget Support: Assist in preparing the annual budget and monthly financial reports Financial Analysis: Perform analytical reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency in reports

Requirements

  • One year as an Accountant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.
  • A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
