About The Position

Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking an Account Strategist to join the Business Media Operations team. This position is located in our New York, NY office on a hybrid work schedule; three (3) days in office depending on business needs. The Operations team is a crucial part of Marcomms success. You will be working with the teams across the group to support our clients’ campaigns (pre and post sale) while keeping strict standards and consistency throughout the campaign lifecycle. The successful candidate is a team player who is confident, adaptable, and responsive. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Sales Operations, BMG.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in client success or account strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and has superb follow-through—completing tasks efficiently and on deadline
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability and interest in project management
  • Deep knowledge of MS Excel required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic partner to clients and internal stakeholders, maintaining expert knowledge of all brands, advertising products, inventory offerings, audience segments, and pricing structures.
  • Lead inventory planning and forecasting efforts, ensuring accurate availability tracking while identifying and implementing process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
  • Oversee contract execution from proposal through launch, including drafting, reviewing, and finalizing insertion orders (IOs), sponsorship agreements, and client contracts.
  • Own the annual review and ongoing optimization of sales enablement materials, including media kits, sales decks, spec sheets, rate cards, and product documentation.
  • Manage the end-to-end execution of custom and traditional advertising campaigns, ensuring seamless coordination from order receipt through campaign completion and reporting.
  • Lead campaign onboarding and kickoff processes, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on objectives, deliverables, timelines, and performance expectations.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Sales teams to manage contract negotiations, redlines, approvals, and compliance requirements, ensuring timely execution and risk mitigation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Editorial, Marketing, Email Operations, Ad Operations, Product, and Web teams to successfully launch and optimize campaigns.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition, timely billing, forecasting, and resolution of any financial discrepancies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, building strong client relationships and providing consultative support throughout the partnership.
  • Monitor campaign performance and delivery, proactively optimizing campaigns to achieve client KPIs and revenue goals while leading the timely resolution of campaign, operational, and client-related issues through clear stakeholder communication and cross-functional coordination.
  • Analyze and communicate campaign performance through strategic reporting, insights, and recommendations that demonstrate value, strengthen client relationships, drive retention, and uncover opportunities for renewals, upselling, cross-selling, and expanded partnership growth.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on campaign management best practices, client service excellence, and internal processes.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, workflow optimization projects, and departmental goals that support overall business growth.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
