Account Strategist

Emberos•El Segundo, CA

About The Position

Most companies would call this Customer Success. We don’t. At emberos, the Account Strategist sits closer to a strategy consultant with a commercial mandate than a relationship manager with a renewal calendar. You’ll own a portfolio of brand clients and the strategy that turns emberos from a platform they use into an advantage they rely on. If a client thinks of us as a dashboard, we haven’t gone far enough. If they think of us as the team helping them win as AI reshapes brand discovery, you’re doing the job. This is a role for someone we trust in the room with a CMO, without backup. You’ll form the point of view, set the account strategy, decide where and when we deploy, and connect the signals we see to decisions the client should make next. Your job is not to keep accounts warm. It is to make emberos increasingly valuable to them.

Requirements

  • 4-6+ years in a client-facing strategic role (e.g., management consulting, brand/marketing strategy, agency account leadership, enterprise customer success focused on outcomes).
  • Proven track record of growing accounts, with demonstrable influence on revenue expansion or net revenue retention.
  • Credibility with senior marketing leaders, with experience working directly with CMOs, brand leaders, or equivalent executives.
  • Strong written communication skills to articulate clear arguments from signal, data, and complexity for senior executives.
  • Fluency or rapid ability to become fluent in AI-driven discovery (AI search, LLMs, answer engines) and their impact on brand discovery and understanding.
  • Comfort with data and technical teams, including reading dashboards, distinguishing signal from noise, and translating insights into recommendations.
  • Direct communication style, providing clients with necessary information, even when uncomfortable.
  • Commercial mindset, understanding the link between creating value and account expansion.
  • Generosity in sharing insights and patterns with product, engineering, and the wider team to improve the collective intelligence.
  • Ability to build and maintain trust with clients through direct and relational approaches, fostering an environment where clients share information openly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in film, entertainment, consumer, or other categories where launches and release calendars are central to brand strategy.
  • Experience at an early-stage company, including building processes.
  • Experience in programmatic advertising, agency, or SEO/SEM.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a rolling 90-day strategic plan for each account, tied to key client moments like launches, release calendars, campaign windows, pipeline cycles, and market shifts.
  • Manage the client relationship post-sale, including kickoffs, weekly working sessions, quarterly reviews, and executive briefings.
  • Determine the deployment strategy for interventions, build client rationale, align internal teams, and ensure all actions connect to strategic objectives.
  • Drive account expansion by identifying opportunities for emberos to create more value, carrying a soft quota for net new ARR.
  • Shape the client's perception of emberos by demonstrating judgment, responsiveness, and value, leading to renewals, expansion, and referrals.

  • Help define AI Brand Management, an entirely new category.
  • Become a trusted strategic partner to clients navigating AI's impact on discovery, reputation, and brand performance.
  • Translate complex AI data and insights into clear recommendations, opportunities, and actions.
  • Work closely with product, sales, and engineering to shape solutions around client needs.
  • Build deep relationships with senior brand and agency leaders.
  • Join a small, high-impact team where individual contributions directly influence company growth.
