About The Position

We are seeking an Account Strategist, Ecommerce to lead digital growth strategy across ecommerce, marketplaces, and performance marketing channels. This role blends strategic planning, channel expertise, and client leadership, acting as a key partner to both clients and internal teams to drive measurable business outcomes. This individual is both a strategist and operator, capable of developing growth roadmaps while staying close to execution across media, lifecycle marketing, and ecommerce performance. As an Account Strategist, Ecommerce, you will own the development and orchestration of integrated growth strategies across DTC, marketplaces, and performance channels. You will serve as a strategic extension of the client’s team, connecting media, creative, analytics, and ecommerce initiatives into a cohesive plan that drives acquisition, conversion, and retention. You will collaborate cross-functionally with internal specialists while maintaining a strong understanding of channel performance, customer behavior, and emerging trends.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in ecommerce, digital marketing, or growth strategy roles
  • Experience across performance marketing platforms (Google, Meta, TikTok, programmatic, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce ecosystems including DTC and marketplaces (Amazon preferred)
  • Proven ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Experience with lifecycle marketing (email/SMS) and customer retention strategies
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and reporting platforms (Google Analytics, dashboards, etc.)
  • Strong familiarity with attribution and modeling as well as a point of view on their application.
  • Strong understanding of both brand and performance marketing and how they work together
  • Experience working in an agency or consulting environment preferred
  • Strong communication, presentation, and client-facing skills
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Own the development of holistic growth strategies across DTC websites, marketplaces, and digital marketing channels
  • Define KPIs, measurement frameworks, and growth roadmaps aligned to client business objectives
  • Identify opportunities to improve conversion rate, AOV, retention, and customer lifetime value
  • Lead strategic planning sessions, QBRs, and roadmap development with clients
  • Develop cross-channel media strategies across: Search & Shopping including emerging AI driven variants Paid Social Platforms Programmatic and retail media platforms
  • Guide campaign planning, budget allocation, and channel mix decisions
  • Partner with execution teams to optimize campaigns toward ROAS, CAC, and LTV goals
  • Translate performance data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Provide strategic oversight for marketplace channels including Amazon (Seller/Vendor Central)
  • Advise on pricing strategy, content optimization, and marketplace performance
  • Align ecommerce merchandising, promotions, and landing page strategies with campaign efforts
  • Monitor competitive landscape and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
  • Guide development of email and SMS lifecycle programs
  • Define segmentation, automation strategies, and retention initiatives
  • Ensure lifecycle marketing aligns with acquisition and overall customer journey strategy
  • Leverage analytics to track performance across traffic, conversion, CAC, ROAS, and LTV
  • Navigate approaches to attribution in the interest of growth & performance.
  • Lead testing strategies across media, creative, and onsite experience
  • Build and interpret reporting dashboards to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Anticipate performance issues and proactively recommend solutions
  • Act as a primary strategic advisor to clients, translating complex data into clear direction
  • Partner with Account Management and cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive strategies
  • Lead client conversations around performance, optimizations, and growth opportunities
  • Support new business efforts through strategic input and solution development
  • Collaborate with Creative, Analytics, SEO, CRM, and Engineering teams to ensure aligned execution
  • Integrate insights from multiple channels into unified strategies
  • Align digital initiatives with product launches, inventory planning, and broader business goals
