About The Position

TELUS is seeking a driven, entrepreneurial sales professional to join their Small Medium Business (SMB) team as an Account Specialist. This role involves thinking like a CEO, building a personal book of business from the ground up, and making a significant impact on businesses across Canada by providing tailored technology solutions. TELUS SMB is the fastest-growing segment in the industry, aiming to be the digital-first technology provider of choice, making technology secure, simple, and worry-free for Canadian businesses. As an Account Specialist, you will act as a trusted advisor and entrepreneur, owning your results, strategy, and growth. The primary focus will be on outbound prospecting to connect with small business owners, identify their needs, and deliver technology solutions to help them thrive in the digital world.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Previous B2B or outbound sales experience
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce, GONG or similar)
  • Background in technology, telecommunications, or SaaS sales
  • Multilingual proficiency — a distinct advantage for our diverse client base
  • Established professional network within the business community

Responsibilities

  • Hunt and develop new business through strategic outbound prospecting and proactive outreach across your national territory
  • Build and cultivate your own book of business from the ground up — not just work assigned leads
  • Manage a full sales cycle from qualifying prospects to closing deals and building a strong client base
  • Deliver consultative solutions tailored to each business's unique needs across our full portfolio — Mobility, Fibre Internet, Business Security and Generative AI solutions
  • Cultivate long-term partnerships where clients see you as their trusted technology advisor, not a one-time transaction
  • Leverage relationships and referrals as a primary growth engine alongside outbound prospecting
  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets while maintaining a focus on customer success
  • Maintain accurate pipeline records and manage your territory with an entrepreneurial mindset
