About The Position

This role serves as the primary liaison between the policyholder and The Standard, supporting employers and employees with group life, disability, and leave-related inquiries. You will independently manage claim processes, coordinate death claims, and assist employees with filing claims, while ensuring accurate premium administration and contract interpretation. The role partners closely with HR, Benefits, and Payroll teams to resolve customer service, claims, and coverage issues, including escalations. You’ll also provide reporting on claim activity, support Evidence of Insurability tracking, and contribute to process improvements that enhance the customer experience and support business retention. The ability to work onsite in Memphis, TN, 5 days per week is a requirement of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in FMLA, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and life insurance (employer, broker, or carrier)
  • Experience managing claims processes and resolving complex customer inquiries
  • Strong knowledge of benefit contract interpretation and premium administration
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and business units
  • Strong verbal communication skills with a focus on empathy and customer service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience coordinating projects and cross-functional work
  • Experience supporting group life, disability, and leave programs in a corporate or insurance environment
