About The Position

The Account Servicing Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Account Servicing Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Account Servicing Department. This includes assisting with ongoing training, development, and quality control of the department. The role involves monitoring staffing to ensure adequate phone coverage, assisting other departments with verifications, credit applications, calls, customer service, and night/weekend coverage as needed. The Assistant Manager works with management to identify areas for process improvement, assists in the planning and implementation of new policies and procedures, and reviews and addresses areas of improvement with department agents and managers. Regular communication with staff, managers, and executives is expected, along with completing delegated assignments and projects.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in business, finance, communication, marketing or related field OR 2 years’ experience in related field
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Internet software.
  • Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly.
  • Must be able to take direction and work well with others.
  • Must be able to work under the stress of deadlines.
  • Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately.
  • Must be able to react to change productively.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Account Servicing Manager with day-to-day operations.
  • Assisting with ongoing training, development, and quality control of the Account Servicing department.
  • Monitoring staffing issues and making changes to ensure adequate phone coverage.
  • Assisting all departments with Verifications, Credit Applications, inbound/outbound calls, customer service, and night/weekend coverage as needed.
  • Working directly with the Account Servicing Manager and management team to determine areas of potential process improvement.
  • Assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of all new policies and procedures within the department.
  • Reviewing and addressing areas of improvement directly with the department agents and managers.
  • Communicating frequently with other staff members, managers, and executives as necessary.
  • Completing assignments and projects as delegated by the Account Servicing Manager.
  • Supervising department staff and assisting with planning the daily workload/scheduling for each collection team.
  • Completing Account Servicing related duties such as taking payments, contacting delinquent customers, and resolving customer issues or disputes.
  • Monitoring Account Servicing related reports and industry/economic trends to help determine best practice items.
  • Assisting other departments with verifications, paperwork, inbound/outbound calls and other duties as required.
  • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving problems.
