About The Position

The Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts, verifying and posting receipts, and resolving discrepancies. They work closely with team members to create ways to bring in revenue and find success as a group, while providing customer services regarding collection challenges in a fast-paced goal-oriented department. This position will ensure efficient, timely, and accurate payment of accounts and establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders. This role will involve a large amount of customer contact which will require a strong customer focused approach and positive and professional attitude.

Requirements

  • 2 years of previous experience in Credit and Accounts Receivable
  • Knowledge of Credit, Collections, and Accounts Receivable principals, practices, and protocols
  • Ten key by touch
  • Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English required
  • Must be able to type 40+ WPM
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to work cordially, professionally, diplomatically and with a high level of customer service in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in dealing with sensitive business matters with internal and external customers of all types
  • Must maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records, particularly, cost of goods purchased and sold
  • Ability and willingness to identify processes, tools and/or procedures that may be improved upon to improve the workplace and outcomes for our customers
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees at a high skill level and speak effectively in front of groups. Communication can include, but is not limited to: in-person (verbal and non-verbal), written, e-mail, telephone, and public speaking to medium size groups
  • Strong focus, planning, organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, and do what is necessary to meet deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of lien laws and bond rights in the states of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho preferred
  • Understanding of the building industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurately apply payments to customer accounts from all payment sources
  • Reconcile customer accounts
  • Prepare daily bank deposit
  • Respond to internal and external customers in a timely manner
  • Respond timely to overflow department calls and emails
  • Collect on small account balances
  • Set up Credit and Cash Accounts as requested
  • Respond to trade reference requests
  • Maintain customer accounts open or close jobs as requested

  • obtain current CCB or L&I documentation as needed
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
