About The Position

The Account Manager is responsible for nurturing existing customer relationships, ensuring customers are pleased with Carolina Chillers’ service, and proactively selling commercial HVAC and Controls solutions to the existing customer base. This role requires a strong blend of technical aptitude, communication skills, and customer engagement talent. The ideal candidate maintains a constant pulse on customer needs, identifies opportunities for projects and capital replacement, and serves as the voice of the customer inside Carolina Chillers to ensure an exceptional service experience.

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, Controls, and Mechanical Equipment lifecycle considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to nurture customer relationships and manage accounts with a high level of professionalism and care.
  • Proven success selling projects, upgrades, repairs, capital replacements, or service solutions in a B2B environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong listening and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to maintain awareness of customer needs and business conditions while proactively identifying opportunities to add value.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and follow-up commitments.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and align internal teams around customer priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with existing customers across the Savannah market.
  • Maintain a regular communication cadence to ensure customers feel supported, informed, and satisfied with Carolina Chillers’ services.
  • Actively monitor customer sentiment, service issues, and operational concerns, escalating internally as needed to protect and strengthen the relationship.
  • Serve as the primary advocate and voice of the customer within Carolina Chillers.
  • Identify, develop, and close opportunities for proactive commercial HVAC and Controls Solutions within the existing customer base.
  • Sell projects, equipment upgrades, capital replacements, repairs, and energy-saving or controls-related improvements.
  • Work to expand account penetration by uncovering unmet needs, future capital plans, and service improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of account-based opportunities and provide accurate updates and forecasts to leadership.
  • Leverage strong technical understanding of HVAC systems and Controls to discuss customer needs, evaluate opportunities, and position appropriate solutions.
  • Coordinate with operations, service, controls, and project teams to ensure customer commitments are understood and executed effectively.
  • Help customers understand system conditions, repair versus replacement considerations, and long-term facility needs.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills in all customer and internal interactions.
  • Build trust through responsiveness, professionalism, and consistent follow-through.
  • Develop relationships with multiple stakeholders at each account, including facility, operations, and financial decision-makers.
