About The Position

The Account Manager role at Mihlfeld & Associates is a sales-driven position designed to develop high-performing revenue producers. This role is responsible for generating new business, advancing qualified prospects through the buyer’s journey, and driving revenue growth within an assigned territory. Account Managers begin by mastering Mihlfeld’s proven sales process, learning to prospect, qualify, present, and close new business. As they grow in experience and performance, they expand their responsibilities to include managing and growing select small- to mid-sized client accounts while supporting implementation and client service initiatives. This is first and foremost a sales position. The ideal candidate is competitive, motivated by financial performance, resilient in the face of rejection, and driven to win new business. Over time, the Account Manager builds the skills and experience necessary to transition into a Senior Account Manager role with greater territory ownership and client responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect within an assigned territory to identify and engage qualified potential clients. Prospecting is required and supported by company resources, including company-managed inside sales team.
  • Conduct introductory and follow-up meetings with prospective clients.
  • Clearly articulate the financial and operational advantages of Mihlfeld’s Transportation Data Management services.
  • Follow Mihlfeld’s structured and proven sales process from initial contact through signed agreement.
  • Maintain consistent communication with prospects throughout the buyer’s journey.
  • Manage pipeline activity and documentation in HubSpot in accordance with company standards.
  • Close new client agreements and contribute directly to company revenue growth.
  • Meet or exceed established sales performance expectations.
  • Manage a portfolio of small- to mid-sized accounts that do not have a dedicated Senior Account Manager.
  • Support onboarding and implementation for newly sold clients.
  • Conduct business reviews to demonstrate value, maximize transportation savings, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Maintain client relationships to drive renewals and long-term retention.
  • Partner with Senior Account Managers and leadership on account strategy and expansion opportunities.
  • Gain hands-on experience within Client Services, Logistics Solutions, and the Truckload Routing Center to understand Mihlfeld’s operational execution.
  • Support client services projects that enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless implementation and ongoing client success.
  • Build operational knowledge that strengthens consultative sales credibility.
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time, including overnight stays, for sales meetings and client visits within your assigned region.
  • Progressively develop sales expertise and revenue performance to position yourself for advancement into a Senior Account Manager role.
  • Expand territory responsibility and account ownership as performance and tenure increase.
