About The Position

This position reports to the Area Sales Manager. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for sales of products, solutions & services in the San Antonio, TX trade areas in accordance with the greater Industry, Buildings & Channel (IBC) strategy. You will build long-term relationships with targeted contractors, distributors, consultants & end-users. You will manage resolution to specific customer needs & issues and identify and develop sales opportunities within the construction market. While this is a remote position, candidates must be located in the San Antonio, TX trade areas.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering or industrial engineering (or similar) strongly preferred. Candidates without a degree but commensurate experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum two years sales experience in electrical industry, preferably in commercial, industrial and multi-family markets.
  • Salesforce experience is preferred
  • Experience with technical presentations, oral communication abilities in person and over the phone, drafting professionally written emails and technical documents is important.
  • Ability to travel throughout the trade area as needed.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Sells products/systems/services to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned Business Units/Product Groups.
  • Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full product/systems/ services offering, and align to provide a solution.
  • Prepares sales plans using company tools. Performs regular status reviews and proposes recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls.
  • Collaborate across business lines to help leverage ABB’s entire product portfolio.
  • Prepares offers in accordance with customer contract documents (plans & specs), and in collaboration with proposal department, factory & pricing team.
