About The Position

The Account Manager provides proactive account management and development of strong relationships, specifically by supporting the Account Executive for existing customers within the Middle Market segment. The Account Manager is the resident plan of benefits, account set-up, plan sponsor reporting, and operations expert.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in an account management environment, specifically working with client relationships.
  • Must be located in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, or Rhode Island and work a hybrid schedule.
  • Must be able to travel between 10-20% of time within Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, or Rhode Island, as well as to attend in-office meetings in the Hartford office.
  • Active Health & Life Insurance license, or must obtain within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-5 years of experience in a health insurance account management environment, including working with open enrollment strategies.
  • Previous account management experience with a health plan carrier.
  • 5+ years of experience in the employee benefit industry.
  • Previous experience within a sales and account management environment, specifically at an insurance carrier and/or insurance consulting firm.
  • Previous experience in customer facing and product areas.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies constituent-specific service issues, identifies solutions, and may lead resolution of issues working with other areas.
  • Provides constituents with Aetna policy, plan design, and benefit changes & network updates, including analysis of impact.
  • Collaborates with account management team to achieve growth/renewal objectives; may assist in preparation and delivery of renewal packages.
  • May assist in constituent training on product and policy questions.
  • May take initial calls for direct sales requests and forward requests to appropriate sales staff.
  • Develops and executes customer service strategy.
  • Identifies customer specific service issues, identifies solutions, and leads resolution of issues, working with other areas to implement.
  • Responds to customers' requests for network analysis, benefit plan design changes, and benefit questions and clarifications.
  • Collaborates with Account Management team to achieve growth/renewal objectives; assists in preparation and delivery or renewal packages.
  • Manages all plan administration activities, including installation, plan setup, eligibility, billing and drafting by working proactively with support areas.
