About The Position

We are seeking an Account Manager to manage a portfolio of strategic customer accounts across a designated region. This role serves as the primary commercial contact for assigned customers, driving revenue growth, strengthening customer relationships, and identifying opportunities to expand Lonza’s Bioscience portfolio. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal teams and global stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions while supporting long-term business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Life Sciences, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in account management, sales, business development, or customer-facing commercial roles within the life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or related industries
  • Demonstrated success managing customer relationships and achieving or exceeding sales goals
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills with the ability to influence decision-makers at multiple organizational levels
  • Knowledge of bioprocessing, biotechnology, cell culture, or related life science markets preferred
  • Understanding of GMP-regulated environments and the impact of quality and compliance requirements on commercial activities
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment and willingness to travel up to 30 – 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of strategic and high-value customer accounts, serving as the primary commercial point of contact
  • Develop and execute account plans that drive revenue growth, increase product adoption, and expand market share within assigned accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, identifying business needs and aligning solutions with customer objectives
  • Manage the sales pipeline from opportunity identification through contract execution, ensuring accurate forecasting and achievement of sales targets
  • Lead commercial discussions and negotiations for pricing, contracts, and long-term business agreements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product Management, Quality, Regulatory, and Technical Support, to deliver seamless customer experience
  • Partner with global colleagues to support technical transfers, supply continuity planning, and global account strategies
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities and provide strategic recommendations
