About The Position

The Account Manager is responsible for growing sales within an assigned territory by developing new business and expanding existing customer relationships. This role focuses on the sale of transport refrigeration units, parts, service, repair and maintenance solutions, while delivering exceptional customer support and driving profitable growth.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in outside sales, account management, business development, transportation, transport refrigeration, HVAC, diesel, truck, trailer, or a related industry preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, manage an assigned territory, and achieve sales objectives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • This is a field-based position requiring approximately 75%-85% travel within the assigned territory.
  • Regular customer visits, occasional overnight travel, and business-related travel are required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth within the assigned territory through the sale of transport refrigeration units, parts, service, repair, maintenance, and other aftermarket solutions.
  • Communicate and ensure successful implementation of HVAC/Trailer and Reefer Equipment and Supply business, marketing, and sales plans.
  • Identify and research prospects, define business opportunities, and execute a plan to secure new business.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, leveraging diverse inputs and perspectives to strengthen strategy and execution.
  • Grow equipment, parts, and service revenue through proactive customer engagement, account development, and territory planning.
  • Develop trusted customer relationships and integrate customer goals with sales plan objectives for mutual growth.
  • Maintain and expand existing accounts while identifying opportunities to increase parts, service, maintenance, and equipment sales.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain awareness and analyze industry trends, including in-depth knowledge of competitors' offerings, strategies, disruptions, and new market trends.
  • Maintain accurate customer, market, and sales activity information within the CRM system.
  • Achieve activity, sales, gross profit, and territory growth targets.
  • Report on actions taken to reach intermediate goals in cooperation with team members and established sales processes.
  • Regularly travel to existing customer and prospective client locations.
  • Conduct customer visits, sales presentations, and business development activities throughout the assigned territory.
  • Possess the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comply with all road signs and operate vehicles within their designated limits and in accordance with prevailing weather conditions.
  • Adhere to all Auto and Equipment Safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments.
  • Perform other functions or duties as directed by management in line with dealership objectives.
