We are currently looking for an Account Manager that has the character and personality to work with a strong team of personable and successful individuals in our newly developed Small Business Solutions (SBS) division. You will have the opportunity to be part of a new key strategic business initiative, engaging with team members across the country in a fast-paced environment. As the Account Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day account management of employee group benefit plans with our small business clients. Our approach is warm and our relationships are everything with these client groups. The Account Manager will report to the Manager, Client Relations – Small Business Solutions.

Requirements

  • Please note that this role will require you to obtain a Life license in the province(s) deemed necessary based on your client block
  • Proven experience in Account Management with Broker/Consulting firms, Insurance Carrier, or Third-Party Benefits Administration, or similar organizations
  • Comfortable with speaking in front of groups of employees and clients and not afraid to share your expertise and experience to benefit the team
  • Consistent track record of solving complex client challenges through analytical & creative problem solving, while navigating potentially difficult conversations
  • High level of comfort managing client groups with varying levels of complexity
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities
  • Able and willing to travel when business demands
  • Consider yourself an expert in Microsoft 360 and can manage your Outlook inbox with ease
  • Ability to know who your decision makers are and how you can seek solutions to problems

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of CEBS, GBA, or similar designations is an asset
  • Hands-on renewal or marketing benefits plan experience a definite plus

Responsibilities

  • You will nurture, expand, and build relationships with existing and new clients.
  • You will develop a clear understanding of the client and their strategy, and work closely to ensure their goals are being executed
  • You will have consultative conversations with your internal client partners (Client Services/Analysis/Marketing & Implementation expert) to ensure that your client strategy is aligned and implemented
  • You will be the key relationship for your clients, enlisting members of the support team as needed and overseeing request/project handling to ensure clients’ needs and expectations are met, and exceeded
  • Your focus will be on client retention and relationship management. We hope that you will feel confident enough in your relationships to uncover additional opportunities to drive the sale of additional services and coverage levels
  • You will develop positive working relationships with all internal partners and be an active participant in building a strong team culture - Your contribution will range from administrative to strategic and your ability to impact both will make you an asset to our team
  • You will apply your benefits expertise to help prepare and present renewals, employee benefit sessions, and employee communications, negotiate with carriers, interpret benchmark data and analyze trends
  • You will work with the appropriate client contact and the Marketing & Implementation Concierge to ensure proper technical account implementation
  • Where appropriate, you will serve as the liaison to the Producer(s) connected to your clients
