About The Position

Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, expanding humanity’s reach into the solar system. Today, Astranis satellites provide dedicated, secure networks to highly-sophisticated customers across the globe— large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the US military. With five satellites on orbit and many more set to launch soon, the company is servicing a backlog of more than $1 billion of commercial contracts. Astranis is the preferred satellite communications partner for buyers with stringent requirements for uptime, data security, network visibility, and customization. Astranis has raised over $750 million from some of the world’s best investors, from Andreessen Horowitz to Blackrock and Fidelity, and employs a team of 450 engineers and entrepreneurs. Astranis designs, builds, and operates its satellites out of its 153,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Northern California, USA. We are seeking a versatile, detail-oriented Account Manager to join our team in San Francisco. In this role, you will be the central hub for our satellite bandwidth customers, managing everything from high-level contractual deliverables to the granular details of revenue tracking. You will ensure our customers are supported, our engineering teams are aligned, and our finance department has a clear, accurate view of revenue.

  • A degree or professional background in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Math, or CS) is preferred
  • Financial literacy and strong comfort level with contracts and revenue tracking
  • Genuine desire to go "under the hood"; you want to understand how satellite networks operate and aren’t afraid to ask engineers deep questions so you can better advocate for your customer
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required (To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the United States, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

  • Experience working in a high-energy office environment and collaborating with engineers in real time
  • Experience analyzing contracts or spreadsheets
  • Strong execution skills and/or ability to drive a complex project to the finish line

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and actions are tracked to 100% closure.
  • Lead the response for customer commercial requests and partner with Finance to track, manage, and forecast revenue. You will be responsible for the accuracy of billing triggers and commercial data.
  • Proactively "dig in" with engineering teams to understand the "why" behind technical issues. You won’t just pass messages; you will learn the mechanics of our satellite network to provide better context to the customer.
  • Navigate a fast-paced environment, working across Engineering and Product teams to prioritize customer questions and ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation of customer interactions, project statuses, and commercial commitments.
