Account Managers are responsible for managing the overall sales efforts in their assigned territory to maximize sales and profit. They must utilize frequent face-to-face and/or telephone contact in a consultative sales approach to ensure the satisfaction of customer needs. They must identify selling opportunities and assertively act upon the opportunities that offer maximum potential and/or gross profit - both with existing customers through cross- and range-selling as well as with new leads. They must uphold Brenntag's core values and focus on customer excellence in all regards every day. The role involves meeting sales objectives, focusing on customer retention and improving overall customer satisfaction, identifying customer potentials for cross- and range-selling, setting strategies and targets for customer growth, conducting customer visits, coordinating, negotiating, and closing proposals, managing spot business/rush offers, liaising with stakeholders for customer solutions, acting as a major point of contact for customers, conducting market studies for new product opportunities, and leveraging Brenntag Connect to generate sales. Additionally, the role includes identifying and prioritizing prospective customers, nurturing leads, liaising with sales staff on new business opportunities, setting and maximizing prices, ensuring data administration and documentation in the CRM system, updating customer pipelines, completing sales and revenue reporting, driving commercial and functional excellence, providing forecasts of product demand, and maintaining up-to-date product knowledge, including market and feedstock developments.
