About The Position

RNDC is looking for talented and energetic Account Manager to join our growing team. The Account Manager is a skilled salesperson who builds strategic, mutually beneficial relationships with account owners and buyers and will maximize the sale of supplier brands to specified wine accounts through effective account management, selling execution, and communication. This highly effective relationship will result in the achievement of company and supplier objectives. The Account Manager will provide high-level product support and selling strategies to the sales teams and support the accounts with education and product selection.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university; AND 2 to 3 years of sales experience in the beverage alcohol industry is required.
  • Knowledge of processes, tools, techniques, and theory behind selling the organization’s products or services.
  • Knowledge of and ability to coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling the organization’s products and services.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize customer profile and information.
  • Knowledge of specific products and associated development process and strategy.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and clean DMV records.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and objection handling skills.
  • Proven track record of successful selling.
  • Knowledge and skills to utilize computer software programs for support in the sales effort.
  • Proven abilities to develop selling strategies targeted to enhance sales within an account.
  • Ability to work with management, colleagues, and customers in the industry at every level.
  • Ability to develop an effective partnership with all assigned accounts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl daily.
  • Must be able to drive a reliable vehicle from account to account.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively execute distribution and volume through wine lists, wine-by-the-glass, catering, banquets, special events, and other opportunities.
  • Conduct staff training and education in all assigned accounts.
  • Develop monthly, weekly, and daily written plans for execution.
  • Create customer business-building concepts to increase sales.
  • Work collaboratively with client/winery personnel to develop wine product knowledge, assist with wine presentations, and activate account action plans.
  • Know company and supplier quotas and work toward attaining them and revenue growth.
  • Sell concepts and consult with the customer on strategies that will collectively enhance sales.
  • Build relationships and an effective partnership with the decision maker in assigned accounts.
  • Utilize pricing and promotion strategies, marketing opportunities, servicing, merchandising and category management skills.
  • Effectively communicate issues, opportunities, and market intelligence to stakeholders.
