About The Position

The Account Manager owns a portfolio of roughly 8–15 established mid-tier customers and is accountable for growing and retaining those accounts. The role develops and maintains account plans, expands accounts into new product lines and MultiTech connectivity services, builds relationships across customer buying centers, and structures commercially sound deals in partnership with the deal desk. It collaborates closely with Business Development, the deal desk, Product, Engineering, and Operations. The role manages long, multi-stakeholder industrial sales cycles; maintains account, opportunity, and contact information in the CRM; forecasts portfolio revenue; and identifies risks such as at-risk renewals, single-threaded relationships, and product end-of-life transitions. It is remote, performed primarily from a home office, and includes regular travel to customer sites. The company has two positions open.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of B2B experience in inside sales, account management, customer success, or applications/sales engineering.
  • Self-directed and organized enough to manage account plans across 8–15 relationships without being chased.
  • Proven track record of growing accounts through personal, targeted initiative.
  • Technically literate and able to credibly discuss connectivity, integration, and product fit.
  • Commercially curious, with the ability to notice shifts in customer buying patterns and take appropriate action.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to customer leadership in business reviews.
  • Comfort with long, uneven sales cycles and multi-stakeholder buying.
  • Experience with a CRM and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Own revenue growth and retention across an assigned portfolio of roughly 8–15 mid-tier accounts against an annual growth target.
  • Track portfolio buying patterns and proactively respond to expansion signals, slowing orders, or competitive pressure.
  • Identify and drive cross-selling into new product lines and MultiTech connectivity services.
  • Partner with Business Development to take over newly won accounts and transition them into managed coverage.
  • Maintain a one-page account plan for each account, refreshed semi-annually for budgeting and quota planning. Plans include revenue and trends by product line, buying-center maps and contact coverage, customer business context and roadmap, named opportunities and next steps, and key risks.
  • Run quarterly business reviews with larger accounts in the portfolio.
  • Discuss connectivity, integration, and product fit with customers, bringing in technical specialists for deeper engagements.
  • Manage long, multi-stakeholder industrial sales cycles through to a decision.
  • Build relationships across customer buying centers, including engineering, operations, procurement, and leadership.
  • Work quotes through the deal desk and structure commercially sound deals based on value, volume, and terms rather than defaulting to discounts.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, opportunity, and contact data in the CRM as indicators of portfolio health.
  • Forecast portfolio revenue and flag risks early, including at-risk renewals, single-threaded accounts, and product end-of-life transitions.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Product on lead times, lifecycle changes, and escalations that affect account health.
