About The Position

Glencore Ltd, a US-based branch of Glencore AG, is seeking an Account Manager to join its sulfuric acid field sales team. This role serves as both a field sales representative and commercial account manager for NorFalco, a Glencore company. The Account Manager will be responsible for strengthening existing customer relationships, improving commercial returns, and identifying new business opportunities with prospective customers. This position works closely with Traders, providing market and customer insights to inform regional and national planning. As the primary commercial contact, the Account Manager will lead commercial discussions, negotiate B2B agreements, and maximize customer value and profitability. The ideal candidate will have a home office in the Midwest US or US Gulf regions, but the location is flexible due to the remote nature of the position. Extensive travel within the US and Canada is required, especially in the first 2-3 years.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Economics or Science
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus
  • Very strong commercial aptitude with proven problem solving and analytical skills
  • Fast learner, able to work independently, and multi-task effectively
  • Minimum 5 years B2B sales experience in any sector
  • Proven sales experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Discipline to work from home

  • Confident communication
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Ability to maintain professionalism with clients and internal teams
  • Adept at Power Point, Word, Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with chemical or Sulfuric Acid sales is NOT a requirement but can be an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Own regional sales performance and results.
  • Manage and grow existing customer relationships.
  • Prospect, cold call, and win new business.
  • Track market activity, customer needs, competition, and forecast changes.
  • Act as the link between the Trading team and the market.
  • Monitor regional supply and demand trends daily.
  • Lead customer coordination across commercial, technical, logistical, and credit matters.
  • Promote value-added services to customers.
  • Support national sales planning and budgeting.
