About The Position

The Account Manager - Calgary will report directly to the Director of Program Sales – Canada. This position will be responsible for overseeing the daily tasks involved in addressing customers’ needs and concerns and maintaining account activities. This individual will work out of the Gambles Calgary warehouse location and may require the ability to travel for customer meetings. Although the primary schedule for this individual is 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, our ideal candidate can work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the business which may include occasional evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of account management experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience managing retail and wholesale customers in Western Canada
  • Professional experience in sales and customer service
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, ensuring exception service and timely issue resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to drive long term partnerships and account growth.
  • Develop and execute account plans to achieve sales, margin, and service KPIs.
  • Manage customer pricing and ordering platforms.
  • Monitor forecasts, fill rates, and trends while collaborating with the buying team and operations to meet demand.
  • Review sales performance, margins, and budgets to identify opportunities for growth and profitability.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, contracts, pricing agreements, and account updates.
  • Prepare customer performance reports and business reviews for customers and internal leadership.
  • Monitor market conditions and commodity trends to provide customers with timely pricing and product updates.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing customer accounts through new products, promotions, and value-added solutions.
  • Identify and pursue new customer opportunities to support business growth and expand the customer portfolio.
