About The Position

NGK Automotive Ceramics USA, Inc., a subsidiary of NGK Corporation, is seeking an Account Manager to develop and promote its latest technologies for carbon neutrality and the digital society. This role will focus on addressing industrial issues within the group, particularly in the fields of Direct Air Capture (DAC) and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) upgrading. The Account Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with industry stakeholders, representing NGK in industry coalitions, and supporting technical discussions with global product development teams. The position requires adaptability to new technologies and exploration of new industries for various use cases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences.
  • 5 - 10 years of Experience in Product / Application Engineering Role.
  • Some or entire portion of experience in Business Development / Program Management Role.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  • Self-starter with ability to work in multi-cultural environments.
  • Strong customer interface and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to apply logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Computer literate.

  • Additional Business Administration Degree.
  • Emissions ceramics products experience.
  • Coater and Canner experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop new relationships in the fields of Direct Air Capture (DAC) and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Upgrading.
  • Develop a good knowledge of industry stakeholders to effectively work with them and support Business decisions for NGK.
  • Act as the face of NGK at industry coalitions and lobby groups for DAC and RNG.
  • Support technical aspects and discussions with product development teams in the US, Japan, and other global NGK members.
  • Link the entire NGK world with updates on the North American experience and activities.
  • Adopt and adapt new technologies for exploring new allied industries for various use cases.
  • Research and report information on the performance of company technologies as well as competing technologies within the Customer base.
  • Increase the Customer portfolio by promoting technologies to new Customers.
  • Aid in the development and application of products to fulfill customer needs.
  • Confer with existing and prospective customers and assess customer needs.
  • Promote and implement technical products and services into customer development and production programs.
  • Provide product functionality and capability reports and act as a technical liaison both internally and externally.
  • Act as the liaison for the commercial and technical aspects of the business between NGK and customers.
  • Communicate internally on a regular basis with other global offices, including Europe and Japan.
  • Create Budget files twice a year with concurrence of team members.
  • Monitor sales and delivery figures related to the budget files.
  • Prepare proposals, contract negotiation and changes with the Customers.
  • Manage all interactions with customers on technical and commercial aspects.
  • Maintain and grow the customer database by formulating specific business strategies and execution tactics as agreed with team members.
  • Resolve Quality Assurance (QA) issues and diagnostics of technical problems related to the products and relevant specifications.
  • Understand the technical intricacies of the associated products to position, present and apply based on Customer needs.
  • Ensure compliance and support of company policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Monitor market trends and recommend necessary business strategies.
  • Monitor competitor performance and recommend product/technology & commercial development strategies as required.
  • Anticipate possible future actions of the competition.
  • Support with Industry / market information relevant for the Product Development Gate Process to support a flawless launch.
  • Participate in conferences either exhibiting, presenting or attending to gather key strategic market insights which drive strategic decisions.
