The Account Manager manages sales accounts and all activities selling Client products to wholesalers, distributors, and retailers (direct and indirect customers) primarily over the phone, via fax, and electronically, but occasionally at customer's place of business. This role involves meeting sales and customer service objectives using consultative selling techniques, maintaining customer account files and profiles, and staying updated on competitive and market information. The Account Manager is responsible for preparing correspondence, sales reports, and contributing to monthly reports to ensure goals are met and exceeded. Customer service duties include handling ad claims, damages, order entry, order tracking, providing sales materials, and resolving deduction and credit issues. The role also involves following up on sales leads, informing customers of product updates, price changes, and managing account plans, strategic plans, promotional plans, and trade spend. Product line reviews are conducted to ensure customer sales growth aligns with market information. The Account Manager confers with department heads on new accounts and sales promotion campaigns, directs research for sales promotion planning, and prepares special promotional features. They monitor and analyze sales promotion results for cost-effectiveness and ROI, discuss product features and benefits with customers to increase sales, and create up-selling opportunities. Quoting prices, credit terms, preparing sales presentations, estimating delivery dates, and preparing business transaction reports are also key responsibilities. The role involves analyzing sales statistics to assist customers in promoting client products, reviewing market analyses to understand customer needs and develop sales campaigns, and reviewing orders for opportunities to expand services. Directing product rationalization and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items and analyzing expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements are also part of the role. Regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to the schedule are essential functions of this position.
