About The Position

HUB International is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Account Manager to market voluntary products to prospects and current clients, and service existing accounts. This role involves reviewing plan design, rates, summaries, proposals, and implementation of plans. You will work with carriers to develop rate quotes, underwriting, and eligibility. The position requires preparing presentation materials, employee communications, implementing and maintaining plans, and performing special projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • 2 years of experience in benefits brokerage, insurance or employee benefits customer service, account administration, or a related field preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of minimum qualifications
  • State life and health insurance license, or ability to obtain, required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation, and to effectively present information to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable interpreting business publications, professional journals, and regulatory materials
  • Strong mathematical skills, with the ability to calculate percentages, interest, commissions, and apply concepts from basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to apply common-sense reasoning and follow instructions delivered in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to assess information, develop alternatives, and implement effective solutions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; ability to adapt to new technologies and use them to improve processes
  • Strong organizational and planning skills; able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with accuracy and efficiency
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to team success

Responsibilities

  • Markets voluntary benefit plans by explaining features and merits of options depending on client goals.
  • Prepares new or renewal presentation material by obtaining quotes from carriers.
  • Coordinates data and rates from carriers, including any plan design alternatives and commission changes.
  • Reviews plan documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinates the implementation of new plans and policies.
  • Assists with creating communication material for clients and prospects.
  • Trains clients on requirements for administering the plan; assists clients in setting up internal procedures as needed.
  • Attends or conducts enrollment meetings and assists with new hire communication and open enrollment.
  • Assists clients in obtaining complete employee enrollment on a timely basis and ensuring carrier receives all required information.
  • Attends client meetings, documents all client meetings and phone calls regarding coverages and pertinent information.
  • Assists clients in canceling and making any changes to their insurance coverage.
  • Assists clients with claims matters.
  • Answers client questions regarding procedural matters and plan provisions.
  • Monitors product changes of carriers and in the industry.
  • Provides administrative support to the Voluntary Benefits Department.
  • Maintains active involvement with targeted professional, civic and charitable organizations to develop and nurture HUB Great Plains’ image.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
