About The Position

CLEAResult, the North American leader in the design and implementation of Demand Side Management (DSM) programs for energy utility clients, is searching for a talented individual to join our team as a Small Business Account Manager! The Energy Efficiency Small Business Account Manager promotes energy efficiency concepts, services, and financial incentives available to customers from their local utility. As an Account Manager, you will work to identify cost effective investments in energy efficiency and ensure partners pursue demand and energy saving measures/installations. You will primarily focus on assisting small commercial partners and contractors in the following in the following trade fields: electrical/lighting, HVAC (Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning), Roofing, Insulation, and Refrigeration. The successful candidate will be based in the San Antonio or Austin areas, or within a 3-hour drive of the two AEP Texas service territories. Note that regular travel (2 Weeks per month) to areas around South and Northwest Texas will be required to be successful in this role. Requirements

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in a professional position preferably in energy efficiency, outside sales, consulting or similar field
  • Proven ability to communicate a value proposition to all program stakeholders, internal and external
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with contractors and/or direct-install teams about the respective trade related work

Responsibilities

  • Based on each partner’s specific needs, support the partners and their project(s) from implementation through incentive payment for energy-saving measures
  • Make demand and/or energy saving recommendations to impact each project
  • Track and report partners projects in a timely manner
  • Develop program processes and make recommendations for improvement
  • Determine partner recruitment target goals and associated strategies to achieve necessary kW/kWh savings
  • Recruit partners by effectively communicating the value proposition of the program (and utility)
  • Have conversations and ask appropriate questions to qualify partners and specific energy-saving projects for inclusion in the program
  • Have ability to perform installation and provide education on benefits of simple no-cost energy-saving measures to provide immediate benefits and serve as ‘on-ramp’ to the full range of program opportunities
  • Work effectively with all entities (e.g., owners, managers, facilities staff, architects, engineers, contractors) involved in projects to optimize energy efficiency
  • Identify and escalate program/partner issues in a timely manner to the appropriate level of management
  • Be prepared for standing weekly and monthly report out meetings with internal team and/or utility client(s)
