This role serves as the primary day-to-day client contact, managing relationships, setting expectations, and ensuring effective delivery of projects. The position requires a proactive individual who can manage current work while also identifying future opportunities. This is a hybrid role, open to candidates in our US offices (Boston, Chicago, Carmel, San Francisco) or remote within the US, based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Experience in publications within an agency setting.
  • Working knowledge of ICMJE and GPP guidelines.
  • Publication database experience (e.g., iEnvision, PubsHub).
  • Highly organized with a mindfulness of deadlines, ability to manage multiple tasks based on priorities, and strong attention to detail.
  • Independent thinker confident in taking ownership of assets and material development, but also a team player who enjoys collaboration.
  • Professional presence, performs with a sense of urgency and with a client service orientation.
  • Confidence to manage upward when required; able to communicate with managers when deadlines will not be met or when issues are foreseeable.
  • High energy, able to effectively operate in a fast-paced, growing, and evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, with a track record of following through on client requests with high-quality deliverables on schedule and on budget.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the day-to-day client contact for publication work streams, providing regular status updates, responding to queries, and sharing recommendations after discussion with the account lead.
  • Manage client expectations regarding timelines and project scope, take client briefs, and communicate them clearly to team members.
  • Implement realistic project plans and take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the account, including internal team meetings, workflow, task delegation, and job status.
  • Oversee status reports to ensure all team actions are completed.
  • Take ownership and accountability for medium/large client projects, ensuring delivery to the highest standards within budget and agreed timeframes.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the account lead regarding project progress, alerting them to any barriers and proactively proposing solutions.
  • Develop an awareness of the client’s business priorities and a sound understanding of program strategy, including competitor activity.
  • Stay informed about trends and developments in the medical communications and pharma industries, as well as market changes.
  • Identify areas for growth, such as evolving existing programs or developing additional tactics, and proactively share new ideas with the team and client.
  • Be proactive regarding new business opportunities, flagging relevant experience, contributing ideas, and assisting in the production of credentials and pitch presentations.
  • Maintain a general understanding of account finances and support the account lead with financial management.
  • Engage in continued professional development, working with a manager to identify training opportunities based on interests and needs.
