About The Position

This position is responsible for the development and execution of market strategy to attain and/or maintain a desired market position within an assigned territory. The Account Manager will make necessary sales and support calls, presentations, and communicate issues between corporate, the retail network, and the customer. A key aspect of this role is the ability to effectively identify, communicate, and resolve customer problems, issues, and opportunities with corporate and retail networks. The role requires extensive background knowledge in lift truck and dock and door applications, familiarity with major manufacturers' dock and door options, and a clear understanding of dock and door maintenance and control operations. Additionally, knowledge of OSHA and local regulations regarding dock and door and electrical requirements is necessary. Excellent customer service skills are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • Extensive background in Lift truck and Dock and Door application knowledge.
  • Familiar with all of the major manufactures dock and door options.
  • Must be able to multi-task and have very excellent time management/project management skills.
  • Should have a clear understanding of dock and door maintenance.
  • Should understand dock and door control operations.
  • Need a clear understanding of OSHA and local regulations regarding dock and door and electrical requirements.
  • Excellent customer skills are essential.
  • College Degree Preferred
  • 2 - 5 years proven sales professional preferred
  • Basic knowledge and abilities of Microsoft Office products
  • Prior knowledge and use of CRM a plus
  • Daily travel within territory and very minimal overnight travel

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Effective Professional Selling Principles in the working environment.
  • Increase overall revenues.
  • Increase visibility including market share for both current and new customer sales.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Develop strategic plans and work with the local management to ensure market position of assigned accounts.
  • Manage the development and activity of assigned territory and accounts including the selling process.
  • Call on current and target accounts, develop and make sales presentations and ensure adequate sales service.
  • Responsible for effective communications with the retail network and pre and post sales issues.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing management to study and develop sales and marketing strategies to support selling to all customers within assigned territory.
  • Manage and control travel and entertainment expenses.
  • Collaborate with branch management and internal departments regarding receivables.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and build new relationships with potential key customers.
  • Listens attentively to others, asks clarifying questions, actively listens, stays open to other viewpoints, and manages distractions and interruptions.
  • Understands the importance of timely follow up with customers, managers and staff making communication a top priority.
