About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance professional to join our Professional & Executive Risks team (ProEx), managing and growing an established book of business that is largely cyber and technology related. You will provide the highest standard of client service — marketing and placing accounts, working closely with underwriters, and advising clients on coverage solutions that align with their evolving needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Commercial Insurance experience
  • General Commercial Insurance knowledge is an asset with a desire to specialize
  • Level 2 General Insurance License
  • Service-driven with a client-first mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Works independently without supervision
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience in sales process and account management

Nice To Haves

  • Recognized industry certification preferred (CAIB, CIP, CRM, BCIT Risk Management)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing book of business that is largely cyber and technology related
  • Provide highest standard of client service
  • Handle marketing and placement of accounts by working closely with underwriters to make placements
  • Communicate with clients and provide advice that aligns with their needs
  • Be flexible to the needs of each client
  • Remain up-to-date on all current coverage available
  • Be proactive in foreseeing and meeting the needs of each client
  • Recognize and actively pursue new business opportunities
  • Attend and actively participate in industry and company events, meetings and actively build your network
  • Conduct market research on prospects
  • Remain current on business issues pertaining to prospects
  • Follow up on leads
  • Generate new business revenue by selling insurance coverage to client
  • Identifies areas for cross-sell and upsell where possible
  • Meets and/or exceeds monthly budgeted targets
  • Continue professional development in order to enhance skills and abilities
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Collaborates effectively with team to service all aspects of accounts
  • Participates in Critical Path where necessary
  • Attends client meetings
  • Collect data from the client, create an expert submission in Policy Works (or EPIC) to be presented, identify coverage gaps and offering coverage solutions, negotiate suitable rates and coverages with company underwriters, present client proposal and bind coverage.
  • Prepares proposals, cover notes, customer correspondence, certificates, and invoices as per agency standards
  • Processes all documentation according to HUB workflows
  • Manages and collects Account Receivables
  • Updates CORE and lost business tracker for reporting
  • Maintains accuracy of electronic files that may be housed in EPIC, Policy Works, Certificate Exchange and physical files as per agency standards
  • Advises Client of provincial and international tax and licensing implications (client encouraged to seek professional accounting advice)
  • Has oversight over the entire New Business and Renewal Process and is ultimately responsible for protecting HUB from E&O
  • Be proactive in the claims process and work with claims team and clients to facilitate a smooth claim
