About The Position

This is a temporary 12-month position where the incumbent is responsible for prospecting, soliciting, developing, and maintaining business relationships with a clientele primarily composed of medium-sized organizations in the commercial sector. The role focuses on promoting and selling Desjardins products and services to grow the business centre's operations. The Account Manager will utilize their technical business knowledge and understanding of applicable frameworks to represent, negotiate, and engage companies in complex agreements with significant business impact. They will ensure a balance between sales objectives, sound risk management, portfolio profitability, and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the latest financial, economic, policy, and legislative developments
  • Ability to perform analyses of the market and the business centre's external environment
  • Ability to perform financial analysis
  • Knowledge of the characteristics and credit risk inherent to the major commercial, industrial, and institutional markets
  • Knowledge of loan and guarantee contracts
  • Knowledge of products and services for businesses and those offered by caisses, components, and Desjardins distribution networks, as well as competitors' offerings
  • Knowledge of financing and credit management practices related to businesses
  • Knowledge of policies, legislation, and standards governing the products and services offered by the business centre
  • Knowledge of business credit authorization, monitoring, collection, and recovery practices
  • Knowledge of the Desjardins business processes
  • Understanding of the referral process
  • Familiarity with government business assistance programs

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, develop, and maintain personalized business relationships with current and potential clients to promote and sell Desjardins products and services.
  • Serve as a key intermediary between the business centre and members/clients, acting as an account manager.
  • Ensure proper usage, updating, and satisfaction with offered products and services.
  • Analyze sources of dissatisfaction and recommend solutions.
  • Identify and analyze member and client needs, develop personalized solutions, and prepare integrated service offerings.
  • Negotiate applicable conditions with members and clients.
  • Recommend strategies and solutions for achieving business centre objectives, including increased business volume, sound risk management, portfolio profitability, and stronger business relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for business development to increase the competitiveness of products and services.
  • Execute promotional activities as part of the centre's business operations.
  • Participate in public relations activities and actively engage in the business community.
  • Be attentive to client and member needs to ensure satisfaction, seize business opportunities, and refer them to the appropriate person when necessary.
  • Adhere to all applicable policies, practices, standards, and laws governing the distribution of financial products and services.
  • Provide sound and prudent risk management for all assigned portfolios.
