About The Position

The Commercial Marine Brokerage Account Manager is responsible for the placement and servicing of commercial marine insurance accounts, working alongside their manager, their agents, and underwriters to deliver tailored coverage solutions for clients. This is a developing-producer role suited to a broker early in their marine career who is building specialist knowledge across commercial marine, recreational marine facilities, marinas, boat dealers, yacht, and related marine habitational and liability exposures. This role supports the growth and retention of an assigned book while progressively taking on independent placement responsibility as expertise develops.

Requirements

  • Active P&C insurance license
  • 5+ years of commercial insurance client servicing, including experience with marine policies

Nice To Haves

  • AIMU, CIC, or CPCU designations preferred
  • Ability and desire to continue professional development through industry and/or outside courses to obtain a professional designation

Responsibilities

  • Market, quote, and place marine insurance accounts under the guidance of senior brokers, building proficiency across hull, P&I, marine general liability, marine contractors, and habitational marine risks.
  • Prepare submissions, gather underwriting information, and assemble complete, accurate account files for marketing to carrier and wholesale partners.
  • Develop and maintain day-to-day relationships with retail agents, wholesale partners, and carrier underwriters, serving as a responsive point of contact for service needs.
  • Support new business production and account retention through timely follow-up, accurate quoting, and proactive renewal preparation.
  • Process binders, endorsements, certificates, and other policy documentation accurately and within established service standards.
  • Maintain organized account records and ensure compliance with brokerage workflows, licensing requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Build market knowledge of marine coverage forms, carrier appetites, and competitive positioning to support effective placement.
  • Collaborate with senior brokers, underwriting, and operations to resolve account and service issues promptly and professionally.
