About The Position

This is a fully remote position for applicants in the Eastern or Central Time Zones. The role supports Shared Services, providing service support to other IOA account teams and new producers during their first 3-6 months with account management and service. The position requires construction/contractor experience and an active P&C license. While remote, individuals within a 50-mile radius of a branch location may be required to work onsite in a hybrid capacity. A dedicated, distraction-free workspace is necessary for remote work, and it is not a substitute for childcare or other personal responsibilities during working hours. The Account Manager will manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business. This involves coordinating day-to-day administrative and customer service activities, resolving complex issues, and ensuring no errors or omissions.

Requirements

  • 5 years of account management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
  • Required active licensing; professional designation (CIC or equivalent) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Construction / contractor experience
  • Active P&C license

Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
  • Direct daily activities of the account management team.
  • Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
  • Manage policy expirations and renewals.
  • Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
  • Monitor reports and take action on delinquent accounts, collecting outstanding balances.
  • Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and any issues.
  • Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests.
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  • Seek and adopt best practices to improve individual and team performance.
  • Demonstrate integrity and leadership.
