About The Position

The Account Manager - Commercial Lines role is a fully remote position for candidates located in the Eastern Time Zone. The primary focus of this role is managing a book of business, primarily in the construction industry, with secondary focus on condos and manufacturing. The position requires an active property & casualty or Florida 2-20 license. While the role is remote, individuals within a 50-mile radius of a branch location may be required to work onsite in a hybrid capacity. Remote work requires a dedicated, distraction-free workspace and is not a substitute for personal responsibilities during working hours. The role involves ensuring account retention, supporting new business, coordinating administrative and customer service activities, resolving complex issues, and maintaining accuracy to prevent errors or omissions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
  • Required active property & casualty (P&C) / Florida 2-20 licensing
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)

  • Professional designation (CIC or equivalent) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
  • Direct daily activities of the account management team.
  • Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
  • Manage policy expirations and renewals.
  • Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
  • Monitor accounts receivable reports and take action on delinquent accounts, collecting outstanding balances.
  • Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and any issues.
  • Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests.
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  • Seek and adopt best practices to improve individual and team performance.
  • Demonstrate integrity and leadership.
