About The Position

This role involves managing an assigned book of commercial insurance business, focusing on ensuring account retention and supporting new business acquisition. The Account Manager will coordinate daily administrative and customer service activities, resolve complex issues, and ensure accuracy in all transactions. The position requires maintaining technical competence and industry expertise, directing the account management team's daily activities, and handling various customer service requests including policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis. Key responsibilities also include managing policy expirations and renewals, conducting client research, preparing submissions, negotiating coverages, and presenting proposals. The role requires monitoring accounts receivable, maintaining agency management systems and carrier platforms, ensuring data accuracy, and managing activity/suspense items for timely completion. Frequent and transparent communication with the account team regarding workload and issues is essential, as is delivering excellent service, anticipating client needs, and responding promptly to requests. Staying updated on company policies and procedures, seeking best practices for continuous improvement, and championing IOA values are also critical aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
  • Required active property & casualty licensing
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Responsibilities
