About The Position

White Cap is North America’s leading distributor for professional contractors, supplying everything contractors need to build remarkable construction projects. The Accelerated Sales Program is designed for sales professionals outside our industry to quickly accelerate their sales career. This comprehensive, sales-specific training program is designed to fast-track the growth and development of new Outside Sales Representatives/Account Managers. Participants will work closely with White Cap sales leaders in a 6-12 month program to develop the skills, customer and supplier relationships, and knowledge needed to be successful in outside sales. White Cap and its affiliates serve as a one-stop shop, providing concrete accessories and chemicals, tools and equipment, building materials and fasteners, erosion and waterproofing products, and safety products to professional contractors by meeting their distinct and customized supply needs in non-residential, infrastructure, and residential end markets.

Requirements

  • Requires operation of a company vehicle or a personal vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 80% of the average work week.
  • If selected for this position, the company will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
  • A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field or one to two years of sales or related field experience
  • Spanish language proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Participates in classroom, independent study, and on-the-job training to learn the White Cap’s business model, products, vendors, customer needs, jobsite environment, systems, competitors, pricing, sales approach, and selling skills.
  • Prepares and executes account plans.
  • Sells White Cap value proposition and products.
  • Learns about making effective jobsite or office sales calls by riding along with the District Sales Manager or experienced Account Managers.
  • Enters and processes customer orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
