About The Position

This position offers the opportunity to leverage your passion for finance and technology, strong communication, and networking skills. Join a growing Fintech start-up experiencing rapid scaling. As an Account Executive (AE) joining Mako, you will play a pivotal role at the forefront of the wealth management sector. Reporting directly to the VP, Customer Success, you will oversee the entire sales cycle - from prospecting and demonstrating the product to negotiating terms and sealing the deal. You will collaborate with the Lead Generation team to receive a curated list of wealth firms earmarked as potential prospects for our solution, and you'll also be required to proactively identify other prospective firms. Leveraging your experience in wealth and finance, you'll pinpoint the key decision makers within these firms. Using a blend of traditional outreach methods (calls/emails) and innovative approaches (social media), your goal will be to secure meetings where we can showcase our solution. Your ability to guide conversations will be essential as you uncover business needs, empathize with challenges, and position Mako as an impactful solution across diverse buyer personas.

Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of SaaS closing experience
  • Proven success as a hunter with measurable results
  • Strong knowledge of wealth and finance
  • Experience selling to mid-market businesses
  • Experience of closing 6-9 deals per quarter with a sales cycle of 3-6 months
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering, or finance from a major Canadian university
  • Enthusiasm and great communication skills
  • Comfort selling technical products
  • Data-driven mentality

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Lead Generation team to receive a curated list of wealth firms earmarked as potential prospects for our solution, and proactively identify other prospective firms.
  • Pinpoint key decision makers within prospective firms using your experience in wealth and finance.
  • Secure meetings by introducing Mako through traditional outreach methods (calls/emails) and innovative approaches (social media).
  • Guide conversations to uncover business needs, empathize with challenges, and position Mako as an impactful solution.
  • Research and generate high-quality leads from various sources such as social media, industry events, and referrals, independent of the lead generation team.
  • Introduce Mako to the target market using traditional and non-traditional methods to uncover and educate on common industry pain points.
  • Deliver tailored product demos that map capabilities to customer challenges.
  • Work with the Sales Engineer to draft detailed proposals that reflect the customer's technical requirements.
  • Handle objections and negotiate terms to drive deals to completion.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Lead Generation, Customer Success, and Partnerships, to better understand and support client requirements.
  • Consistently hit or exceed quota.
  • Attend industry and networking events to increase Mako’s visibility in the marketplace.
  • Accurately forecast pipeline and maintain CRM hygiene.
