About The Position

Comfort Systems USA Ohio is growing its Columbus HVAC Service Sales team and is seeking an experienced, results-driven sales professional to join as an Account Executive – HVAC Service Sales. This role is ideal for a proven sales professional with experience in mechanical service, commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical services, service agreements, repair services, or other technical commercial service sales. The candidate should be customer-focused, commercially driven, technically knowledgeable, and skilled at managing opportunities from initial discovery through close and seamless handoff to operations. As an Account Executive, you will manage and grow an existing portfolio of commercial customers while actively developing new business throughout the Columbus market. You will work directly with building owners, facility managers, contractors, and other key decision-makers to identify service needs, develop practical solutions, and support long-term building performance and reliability. This role serves as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them solve real operational challenges and connecting them with service solutions related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, repair services, service agreements, system upgrades, project-based solutions, and long-term building reliability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of successful sales experience, preferably in mechanical service, commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, facilities services, or another related technical industry
  • Proven ability to manage customer accounts, develop new business, and close commercial sales opportunities
  • Experience selling service agreements, repair services, technical solutions, or project-based work to commercial customers
  • Strong understanding of consultative selling, relationship management, and long-term account development
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical decision-makers
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable independently managing an assigned territory, customer portfolio, and sales pipeline
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities at different stages of the sales process
  • Experience with CRM systems, forecasting, and pipeline management preferred
  • A professional and collaborative approach with the ability to partner effectively with operations, service, and technical teams

Responsibilities

  • Manage, grow, and strengthen existing commercial customer relationships
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within an assigned territory and account portfolio
  • Build strong relationships with building owners, facility managers, contractors, and key decision-makers
  • Conduct site visits to better understand equipment condition, system performance, and customer service needs
  • Develop proposals, scopes of work, service recommendations, and account plans
  • Identify opportunities for service agreements, repairs, upgrades, and project-based solutions
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide accurate, timely forecasting
  • Manage opportunities from initial discovery through proposal, negotiation, close, and handoff to operations
  • Partner closely with operations, service, and technical teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical and customer expectations are clearly aligned
  • Maintain strong communication and follow-through throughout the sales and customer relationship process
  • Represent Comfort Systems USA Ohio with professionalism, integrity, and a strong customer-first approach
