Account Director, Enterprise

PureCars•Atlanta, GA

About The Position

PureCars is seeking a full-service Account Director to own the agency relationship with a regional portfolio of 15–20 dealerships. The Account Director is the primary agency contact and single point of accountability for the work delivered to each store across all disciplines. The role translates the enterprise dealer group's overarching strategy into clear, store-specific plans and ensures teams deliver against them. The Account Director serves as the agency's voice to dealership General Managers and earns their trust as a business partner by understanding each store's sales and service goals, inventory, market, competitors, and manufacturer requirements. This is a full-service agency role spanning traditional and digital media, creative, audience insights, social, CRM/direct, and web. The Account Director connects these disciplines into integrated recommendations and explains how the work supports business outcomes. The role also supports the agency's growth with the dealer group, builds relationships with regional and corporate marketing leadership, oversees budgets and compliance, coordinates internal teams, and communicates account status and risks to agency leadership. Monthly travel within the assigned region is required, including occasional overnight travel.

  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of advertising agency client services experience, including at least 3 years leading accounts.
  • Automotive retail or dealer group experience, working directly with General Managers or dealer principals.
  • Hands-on experience across traditional media, digital media, and creative, with the ability to build strategic, integrated plans.
  • Experience managing a multi-location or multi-client book of business.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior business owners or operators and influence their decisions.
  • Working command of media math, budgets, and performance reporting.
  • Ability to travel monthly within the assigned region, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Initiative, responsiveness, accountability, and ongoing responsibility for a book of business.
  • Ability to see the whole marketing mix and recommend what a store needs across channels.
  • Ability to communicate in business terms relevant to dealership operators, including units, gross, traffic, and ROI.
  • Clear presentation and listening skills, with the ability to voice a professional point of view.
  • Organization and ability to manage dealer priorities and deadlines under pressure.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, integrity, and an entrepreneurial approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of manufacturer co-op programs and OEM advertising compliance.
  • Familiarity with dealership operations, including sales, F&I, BDC, and fixed operations.
  • Experience presenting audience and market research to non-marketing audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary agency contact for 15–20 dealership General Managers, own agency interactions with each store, and maintain a regular cadence of meetings and in-store visits.
  • Understand each store's sales and fixed operations goals, inventory, market share, competitors, and manufacturer programs, and act as a trusted business partner to the General Manager.
  • Represent and champion the agency's overarching strategy and build relationships with the dealer group's regional and corporate marketing leadership so store plans align with group priorities.
  • Develop integrated, store-specific annual, quarterly, and monthly advertising and marketing communication plans across traditional media, digital media, creative, market and audience insights, social, CRM/direct, and web.
  • Translate General Managers' goals into defined business needs and cohesive cross-channel recommendations.
  • Partner with Media and Digital teams on broadcast, streaming/CTV, radio, audio, print, out-of-home, direct mail, search, social, programmatic, video, and vehicle listings so tactics work as part of one plan.
  • Review and approve media plans, flowcharts, and buy summaries, and explain reach, frequency, and coverage decisions in business terms.
  • Brief the Creative team, contribute ideas on concepts, offers, and messaging, and provide final account-side sign-off before work goes to vendors.
  • Use research, audience data, competitive activity, and manufacturer incentive programs to shape store strategy and support General Manager decisions.
  • Review performance reporting for accuracy, connect agency activity to leads, traffic, units sold, and service repair orders, and recommend optimizations and budget shifts.
  • Proactively identify growth opportunities, including new services, conquest markets, service drive growth, and seasonal or model-launch opportunities.
  • Oversee store advertising budgets and pacing, manage co-op submissions and funds, and approve client draft invoices for media and production.
  • Ensure work complies with federal, state, and regional automotive advertising laws and manufacturer advertising guidelines across brands.
  • Oversee website content, specials, and inventory merchandising for accuracy and manufacturer compliance.
  • Connect General Managers with Media, Digital, Creative, Insights, Production, and Accounting teams; oversee internal meetings, timelines, and conference reports.
  • Communicate account status and risks regularly to agency leadership and contribute to agency processes and growth within the Group 1 relationship.
