About The Position

Freshmade is a boutique agency that modernizes food brands through natural brand intelligence, creative thinking, and smart design. Our expertise spans CPG brand strategy, brand design, brand narrative, and brand activation for both B2C and B2B platforms, from package design to digital content creation. We're laid-back about most things, but not the quality of our work. We do not settle. We're looking for an Account Director who is equal parts relationship builder, strategist, and project leader. You'll own client engagements from kickoff to final files, making sure the work is strategically sound, beautifully executed, and delivered on time and in scope. You'll be the connective tissue between our clients, our creative director, our production team, and our outside vendors, keeping everyone aligned and moving in the same direction. This isn't a role where you take notes in the strategy session and send the recap. You'll help shape CPG brand strategy alongside our team, contribute to new business development, and travel occasionally to strategy sessions where you'll both facilitate the conversation and bring your own point of view to it.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in account management or client services, with agency experience strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in CPG brand strategy, ideally in food or beverage.
  • A track record of contributing to new business development, pitches, or account growth.
  • Strong project management skills, including scoping, timelines, budgets, and resource planning.
  • Experience working across creative, production, and vendor teams to bring projects to life.
  • Comfort facilitating workshops and strategy sessions with senior client stakeholders.
  • Sharp skills in quality assurance and proofing, the kind of attention to detail that catches the typo everyone else missed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and defend strategic recommendations.
  • Curiosity and range. You're interested in a lot of things, and you're comfortable wearing many hats.
  • A reputation for being a genuinely pleasant person to work with.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client strategy sessions.

Nice To Haves

  • You've never once said "that's beneath my pay grade" (or above it, for that matter). We don't have egos here, and we're looking for someone who doesn't either. At a boutique agency, a director rolls up their sleeves.
  • You love a good heart-to-heart. You aren't afraid of candor, because you know honest conversations are how everyone gets to a solution that works for both sides.
  • You come to the table with ideas. When something goes sideways, you're the person who shows up with a few creative ways to fix it rather than just flagging the problem.
  • You love design and want to be part of that world, and you have strong opinions about what makes a food brand work on shelf and beyond.
  • You stay positive no matter what, and you're all in on a go-team mentality. When the team wins, you win.
  • You take responsibility. You aren't afraid of failure, because you know that's where the real growth happens.
  • You adapt easily, whether that means learning a new client's way of working, adjusting to a teammate's style, or walking into a strategy session with a room full of people you've never met.
  • You're drawn to boutique life. A small, tight-knit team sounds exciting to you, not limiting, and you believe that good work leads to good things.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client accounts, building trusted relationships and anticipating needs before they become requests.
  • Write and organize creative briefs that give our team a clear, insight-driven foundation for the work.
  • Build and manage project timelines, scopes, and budgets, keeping engagements on track and flagging risks early.
  • Proof and review all work before it goes out the door, from packaging die lines to digital content.
  • Collaborate closely with our creative director, production team, and vendors (printers, photographers, and other partners) to keep projects running smoothly across every function.
  • Contribute to CPG brand strategy, including positioning, consumer insights, competitive analysis, and brand architecture.
  • Partner with leadership on new business development, from identifying opportunities to shaping pitch strategy and proposals.
  • Travel occasionally for client strategy sessions and workshops, both leading the room and actively participating in the thinking.
  • Spot opportunities to grow existing accounts by bringing proactive ideas to clients.
