About The Position

This position will provide administrative and operational support to the Public Works Operations Group. This position would assist the Administrative Specialist II with hiring, recruitment, onboarding and budget coordination.

Requirements

  • ALPHA I classification
  • Required to work in excess of their normally scheduled days/hours during inclement weather in response to short-term departmental needs and/or City-wide emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, and post job requisitions.
  • Setting up interviews and creating interview packets.
  • Point of contact for scheduling annual and new hire physicals.
  • Assist with the onboarding and departmental orientation.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including building relationships with schools, community centers, vocational centers, and other entities.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of departmental and city career fairs.
  • Assist with preparing and reviewing letters and memos.
  • Records management.
  • Run and format monthly budget reports.
  • Create desktop applications, spreadsheets, and reports for departmental use.
  • Performed other job duties as needed. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on workloads and departmental needs.
